Create Your Account🔗

Before you can use any TAK.NZ client, you need an account in the TAK.NZ account management portal. This is where your identity is verified, your access is authorised, and your devices are enrolled.

Step 1 — Go to the account portal🔗

Open https://account.demo.tak.nz/ in your browser.

Demo environment

account.demo.tak.nz is the current TAK.NZ demonstration environment. Your agency administrator will let you know if you should use a different URL for a production deployment.

Step 2 — Sign in🔗

You have two ways to sign in:

  • Create a password — click Forgot username or password? to set a password for your account.
  • Use a social login — sign in with Google, Apple, or LinkedIn if your work email is linked to one of those providers. This is often the faster option and means one less password to manage.

Tip

TAK.NZ's account system is designed so you don't need to create yet another password to remember. Where possible, use an existing account (Google, Apple, LinkedIn, or RealMe in future) instead of a new TAK.NZ-specific password.

If you don't yet have an account, contact your agency's TAK.NZ administrator to be added — access is granted per-organisation, not by open sign-up.

Step 3 — Choose your interface🔗

Once you're logged in to the account portal, you have two paths:

Option What it is Best for
TAK Device Enrolment Enrols your Android (ATAK) or iPhone (TAK Aware) device Field operators who need TAK on a mobile device
CloudTAK Browser-based TAK interface, no install required Quick exploration, desktop users, evaluators

If you're not sure where to start, use CloudTAK first. It requires no app installation and runs directly in your browser, so you can get a feel for channels, the map, and the basics before installing a mobile client.
